Microneedling in Sherburn in Elmet
Collagen induction therapy for scarring, texture and fine lines.
Microneedling, also called collagen induction therapy, uses very fine needles to create tiny controlled channels in the skin. The skin responds by producing collagen, which is why it is used for scarring, texture and fine lines.
Because results build up gradually, a course of sessions is normally recommended rather than a single visit. The appointment is booked for 1 hr, and your skin may look pink for a day or two afterwards.
What to expect
- We assess your skin and talk through the plan, including how many sessions are usually advised.
- Your skin is cleansed and prepared before the treatment, and numbing is used if suitable.
- Your skin may be pink or feel warm afterwards, and this usually settles within a day or two.
Aftercare
- Use a high-factor SPF daily and avoid strong sun while your skin recovers.
- Use only gentle skincare for the first few days and avoid active ingredients until we say otherwise.
- Avoid make-up, swimming, saunas and intense exercise for the first 24 hours.
- Don't pick or peel any flaking skin; let it come away naturally.
This is general guidance. We'll give you advice specific to you at your appointment, and if you are ever worried afterwards, get in touch or seek medical advice. All aftercare advice
